UltimateGuru 2022 is a multi-sport predictor game. These Game Rules explain how users may enter the game, how entrants will score points and what to do if you believe that there has been an error.
These Games Rules form part of the Service Terms which are available here.
Users predict the outcome of 12 major sporting events that are due to take place in 2022. Users must choose one player or team in each of the events to form their entry. As such, each entry into the game is made up of 12 selections from 12 different categories.
Points are awarded for selections that finish first, second or third in any of the specified major sporting events.
In order to enter UltimateGuru 2022, join or create other PickGuru leagues, you will need to register for an account if you haven’t already signed up previously.
A commission of 10% is deducted from each entry into leagues except where any Guaranteed Pots are stated. The pot shown on each league and mini-league is the total prize pot distributable to the winners of that league.
UltimateGuru 2022 is a multi-sport category picks game. The game consists of 12 major sporting events due to take place in the calendar year, as follows:
All competitions are the men’s versions unless stated.
In multi-sport category picks games, entrants create an entry by selecting one specified player or team or the field listed in our predefined categories. For UltimateGuru 2022, these categories are the 12 events listed in section 1.
An entrant must select one player or team from each category to form a valid entry.
Users earn points if their selections finish first, second or third in any of the listed events. Please see sections 1.1.2 and 1.2 for full details of how the scoring works.
The user with the most points at the end of the game will be declared the winner. In the event that two or more Entrants have the same number of points and occupy a winning position, the prize pool applicable to that position will be split equally between those winning Entrants.
NB: If a user selects “the field”, their selection will include all unnamed players or teams in the relevant category.
For example, if the selections available for the Six Nations were England, France, Wales and the field, “the field” would be made up by Ireland, Scotland and Italy. See Scoring (1.1.2) for details on how “the field” will be treated for scoring purposes.
The winner of UltimateGuru 2022 will be the entry that accumulates the highest number of points.
There are no tiebreakers for the purposes of UltimateGuru 2022 scoring. For example, the two losing semi-finalists at Wimbledon (men’s singles) will both receive 30 points each as they are deemed to have both finished in third position.
Similarly for example, in golf, if there is a six-way tie for second place in The Masters, all six players involved in the tie would receive 60 points each. There would be no points awarded for third place in this scenario. See section 1.2.1 for the scoring illustration in relation to each of the 12 events.
Important: For users that have selected “the field” for a category pick, only the highest-scoring “field” player or team will count towards an entry’s score.
For example, if players or teams included as part of “the field” finish first, second and third in a category, entries would only receive points for first place in this scenario. They would not receive additional points for second and third place.
The scoring is outlined for each event in the tables below.
The winner of the Masters 2022 will receive 100 points. The golfer who finishes second will receive 60 points. The golfer who finishes third will receive 30 points.
However, depending on the final leaderboard, there could be a tie for second or third place. If such a scenario takes place, all players involved in such a tie will be awarded the full points for the position that has been tied.
For example and for the avoidance of doubt, if there is a six-way tie for second place, all six players involved in the tie will be awarded 60 points each. In this scenario, no player would be awarded points for third place, as the next position in the leaderboard would therefore be eighth.
The winner of The Open 2022 will receive 100 points. The golfer who finishes second will receive 60 points. The golfer who finishes third will receive 30 points.

For the avoidance of doubt, the final time for making changes to an entrant’s selections will be 16:59:59 (UK, London GMT) on Friday 4th February 2022. Changes to any selections (including events taking place later in the year such as The Masters, Wimbledon, T20 World Cup) will not be possible after this time.
In order for UltimateGuru 2022 to be considered valid, a minimum of eight scheduled events must be completed in the specified scoring window of the game.
In the event that less than eight events are completed in the specified scoring window, the game will be cancelled and will result in full refunds to all entrants.
The specified scoring window for UltimateGuru 2022 is 5 February 2022 to 31 December 2022. Events must be concluded within this window to count towards scoring.
When events are cancelled and the PickGuru game goes ahead, the cancelled events will be excluded from the game.
Please note that this rule may differ from the terms applied to our £1,000,000 jackpot game whjich is governed by its own set of terms.
If any of the scheduled events in UltimateGuru 2022 are shortened for any reason, but still completed in the specified scoring window for the game, then the results from the relevant sporting bodies will be used to populate scoring for the event.. If the relevant sporting body fails to declare a result due to the Event being shortened, disrupted, adjusted or affected in any way, that Event will be considered to have not been completed and no points will be awarded.
Please note that this rule may differ from the terms applied to our £1,000,000 jackpot game which is governed by its own set of terms.
The leaderboards in our games are dynamic and allow users to see the standings of the overall league. The leaderboards will continuously change as the events finish and are based on the data provided by our data suppliers.
Every entry into a game is given a unique name starting with your username and an incrementing NUMBER as a suffix.
e.g.If your username is jbloggs, your first team will be named jblogg. Your second name will be named jbloggs 1.
The buy-in for the league will not change once the league is created.
For UltimateGuru 2022, we will accept entries up to 16.59.59 (UK, London GMT)) on Friday 4th February 2022.
PickGuru will create some leagues with a guaranteed prize pool. These leagues will take place regardless of the number of entries in the league.
Users who finish in the top positions will share the prize pot for that league. The pot distribution can vary depending on the number of entrants into the league. The pot available for distribution is dynamic and will change as users join the league and up until the close of each league. This is shown in ‘Payouts’ within each league. Once the league closes the final payout for each league will be available, clearly shown and will be locked.
Note: Payout tables are subject to change.
In the event where multiple users finish a league with an equal amount of points and finish in a place paid by the prize pool, any monies will be equally distributed amongst those users.
In the event where multiple users finish a league with an equal amount of points and finish in a place paid by the prize pool which is a greater number of places paid by the prize pool, then the prize pool will be combined and split equally amongst the users.
If multiple players finish in a position they will also share the positions beneath them for example, if 3 players finish in first place, the players who finishes next would be in forth place and not second.
PickGuru’s in-play scoring and results are based on official scoring from official sports governing bodies. We use data from a range of third-party providers including SportRadar and OPTA.
In the unlikely event that there is an appeal by any player or team after an event finishes, the initial result declared by the governing body will stand even if the result has been changed.
If there are any delays or issues with the results used in the scoring of our games, we will publish and rectify these as soon as possible. PickGuru will not make any judgements on or changes to official scoring.
Please note that this rule may differ from the terms applied to our £1,000,000 jackpot game which is governed by its own set of terms.
The scoring of these events is driven by third-party data feeds and the results are all readily available in the public domain.
